Job Description:

The Fargo Park District is seeking an individual to assist the Events Department in the planning, facilitation, and supervision of events in our community. Events may range from smaller community events drawing a few hundred people to large-scale events drawing in thousands of people.

This position will begin mid-May and finish the final week of August. The responsibilities and hours will range from week to week, averaging about 30 hours per week. Depending on the event schedule, a specific week’s hours may be as few as 20 or as many as 40.  Applicants should be available to work extended hours on the majority of the following dates:

  • June 8th
  • June 9th
  • June 16th
  • June 19th
  • June 23rd
  • June 30th
  • July 1st
  • July 8th
  • July 14th
  • July 21st
  • July 28th
  • August 1st
  • August 4th
  • August 12th – August 15th
  • August 27th
  • August 28th – August 30th


The evening and weekend schedule will be set at beginning of the internship.

Candidates seeking a degree in the field of Tourism and Hospitality or Sports Management are preferred.



  • Facilitating community events independently; supervising staff members, preparing required materials, etc.
  • Completing projects as directed by the Events Specialists to prepare for large-scale events. 
  • Working in partnership with other departments to ensure all parties involved in an event are working towards the same goal.


Experience and Skills:

  • Experience with team management and supervision
  • Excellent planning and organization skills
  • Ability to actively participate as a team member on projects

  • Ability to be flexible and meet deadlines
